All that is understandable. Just how much better is the reception from a set-top box to an attic antenna? The hardest part is getting the coax cable to your television. The easiest part is picking the antenna that is right for you. I will have another article on that another time. See the picture to the right to see how I wired it up. Tools Needed In addition to the antenna, I needed the following items: Spool of RG-6 Coax Cable. The 50 foot roll was sufficient for me, but your situation may be different. You can buy it for 61 cents a foot here.

Mohu Sky HDTV Attic/Outdoor Antenna is a revolutionary rooftop TV antenna that weighs only three pounds, is one inch thick, multi-directional, and can be installed in an attic.
On old analog sets, it was useful being able to watch the screen while adjusting an antenna to see how different adjustments would affect different kinds of ghosting, noise, etc. I’ve never seen a digital set with anything nearly as nice. Or could it be that there’s no nice way to get statistics from the demodulator inside of the TV? It would be nice if we could see the raw spectrum on the screen and be able to tune antenna using that, but again that would depend on what is actually available to the TV’s OS.
I mean, internally TVs would already have adaptive filters for channel equalization and so on, so there should be information already inside of the unit on which we could base tuning. I don’t know how the modulation works, but in many kinds of digital wireless system data is divided into packets, and receivers are essentially agnostic as to what goes between packets.

In a nutshell — YES! You certainly can combine two tv antennas to get a better signal. Why would you want to hook up two tv antennas? Well, let me explain. Believe it or not, this antenna worked well to pick up the TV stations in our area. We have a couple of towers about 11 miles away from us to the east, a couple more about 45 miles away to the east, and another one or two over to the west of us by about 22 miles.
OK — so do you see a dilemma here? The TV towers are to the east and west of us. Here is the funny thing. The station that is only 11 miles away from us — would cut in and out on our TV. Therefore, I went to buy a new antenna. I got one that said it would work for up to miles away.

Why the G5RV continues to remain popular is a mystery. The ‘legendary’ name, perhaps? That it can be ‘thrown up’ without too much thought? The fact that it’ cheap and cheerful? There has been much written about the G5RV and the overall conclusion is that it’s not a very good multi-band antenna.
This is the best converter box that I got. I has to look up to get a proper HD antenna for my area, I didn’t know at the time that different HD antennas gets different results, I had to go with one that will get most of my favorite channels, but my old converter box pulls only about 7 channels, and the one I got pulls almost 21 channels, sweet!
This wikiHow teaches you how to select and set up an antenna for your TV. Steps Preparing to Connect 1 Determine your television’s antenna connector type. Virtually every TV has an antenna input on the back or side; this is where you’ll plug in the antenna. There are two main versions of this input: Coaxial RF – Resembles a threaded cylinder with a hole in the middle. This type of connector is the standard for most modern TVs.
IEC – Resembles a smooth cylinder with a smaller cylinder inside of it.
How do I connect the antenna?
I started this project as a bench meter to use when I was building a transmitter drive input. The idea to build an inline power meter came out of need rather than inspiration. Read on for the information to make your own forward and reverse power meter for any power level you need. This meter gives good performance across all of the HF bands using fairly common parts and simple construction techniques.
Above: This gutter antenna is connected via an upper roof-level downspout where no personal contact is possible. This all-aluminum gutter is fed with coax with an unterminated shield (at this end, shield connected to radio ground at the other) to reduce nearby computer hash from inside the house.
Mohu recently released an update to the Leaf. Check out my review of the Mohu Leaf Glide. When we first cut the cord I tried quite a few indoor TV antennas. By in large, they were all a disappointment. In fact, I stated on this very blog that there was little difference between various indoor TV antennas. The antenna company Mohu took umbrage to my comments and sent me their Mohu Leaf and Curve to review. The quality of reception for both was fantastic, and they turned my opinion around on indoor TV antennas.
However, the Curve is a looker. In the past, I gave the nod to the Curve based on its aesthetics.

Hooked this up to where the cable came in, split between 6 TV’s and the signal is fine. For the cost of 1 cable bill this antenna is well worth the investment. Lynda Cook Rating Good product does what it says. Jeffrey Kenney Rating This is an amazing upgrade. The quality was so good that I decided to install in my attic instead of on top of the house. I am getting 40 Channels!!!
Here is our list of the 10 things you need to know about modern day digital TV antennas. Broadcast signals are superior to cable and satellite. There are no paid subscription fees to receive over-the-air OTA television, and the picture and sound quality is far superior. In addition, OTA broadcasts are free from the signal compressions used by cable and satellite giving you unadulterated high definition television.
Unlock new local channels. Cable and Satellite providers do not carry all the channels that may be available in your area. In fact, most broadcast stations offer additional regional programming, absolutely free. These channels include local news, sports, cooking shows, kids programming along with classic TV shows and movies. All the major networks transmit signals free over-the-air. The broadcast networks are paid for by advertisers, not subscribers.

This model is so far below the average price, and it makes some big claims; like a range of up to 80 miles. And I mean everything. You would need to live in a near flat-line to the broadcast tower to be able to reach this range. But this model does feature: Boost Waves Features and Specs mile range Range amplifier Multidirectional reception Boost Waves is easy to connect, and it includes a foot cable.
In theory, it should have the ability to receive channels with ease. We had great reception initially, and then we started to see the number of channels dwindle. Keep in mind the tower was just 29 miles away. Readjusting placement over and over again was annoying. But when the channels came in without issues, they were all very clear and offered p quality — not bad. The antenna can barely reach a tower that is 30 miles away. Trying to find both of these great channel selections proved impossible.
